Halloween Sentences, Common Core Aligned

I made this activity with lots of sentences of each kind.  Of course, each of the sentences has something to do with Halloween!  I used mostly Dolch words, but I added some of their favorite Halloween words.  (They always remember those, don't they?)

I made some sorting cards, with reminders of each kind of sentence, along with 28 sentences.  I also added a few other activities to do with the same sentences, based on the Common Core for grades 2 and 3.  I think they're going to love it!  Click HERE or the image to find out more about these Halloween activities, as well as a freebie from the set.

Batty Freebie!

I have been MIA for a while, but that has been because I have been terribly busy (although that has not stopped me from visiting my favorite blogs for ideas).  Since I've been missing, I wanted to share a Halloween inspired freebie.  I hope that you can use it.  Options are to print it like a worksheet, have it like a game, or project it onto your smartboard.  Enjoy!

October Word Sort Freebie

Denise here from SunnyDays. I've been in full Halloween mode the last few days and I have something fun to share with you today.

My kids are having some difficulty recognizing and categorizing them when they are in a group of mixed words. We've been working on them with these centers  and continued practicing with today's seasonal color, cut and paste activity.

Boo Bump!

I've recently created a cute math game perfect for October. It's called Boo Bump and your kids will totally dig it. Bump is a math game that's been around for a while and there are many different versions of it. Basically, the kids roll three dice, add the sum and cover the answer with their marker.
