Field Trip Fun & a Freebie

Field trips can be fun, fantastic and very memorable for the kids. Unfortunately, they can also be exhausting for us as teachers! After a great field trip recently, I was inspired to create some activities for the kids that would be easy to incorporate, even after a long day on a hot school bus.

Here's a student example of one of the ideas.
I just love how she captured herself from this perspective!

Weekly Math Magic for CCSS

Hey Friends,
The buzz about Common Core standards are on the lips of just about every teacher I talk to, including my own! In an effort to really get familiar with the CCSS for primary math, I've created a way to make it painless and effortless!  My Weekly Math Magic is a great way to introduce, practice and review skills all year long. The activities include almost every CCSS for second grade, but there is overlap to grades 1-3.

Click {HERE} for a freebie to try and {HERE} for set one. Additional sets in 9 week increments are coming very, very soon!

American Pride Linky Party

Hi friends,
Denise here from Sunny Days. I'm sure you remember exactly where you were on that fateful day ten years ago that changed America forever. What a dark day in American history. I have to say that I'm a bit ashamed that I never really honored that day properly in my classroom due to my own insecurity of exactly how to handle it. This year was very different. Click on the picture below to stop by the blog and see how we remembered 9/11. Be sure to add your ideas to my American Pride linky party.

Welcome to the Boehm Depot!

I was recently inspired by a trip to the Home Depot, which NEVER happens. That little trip got my teacher wheels spinning like crazy and planted the seed for what became my welcome back bulletin board and Smartboard attendance file.
